About This File
- I'm running VMWare 12.5.9 (can't upgrade to new version since I have older i7 processor). I had first tried the oft-reported method of switching the OS type in VM options from 'OS X' to 'WIndows 10x64' and that resulted in VMWare boot status showing 'unsuccessful' booting to MAC OS X (and also to the other boot options).
- While the VM is powered on and Windows 10 is running as a guest OS in VMware Fusion, click Virtual Machine Install VMware Tools. The following message is displayed: Click Install to connect the VMware Tools installer CD to this virtual machine. A virtual ISO CD image is mounted in a guest OS.
- A VMware VM running Mac OS X guest was Backed up from an ESX Server using Unitrends’ vprotect mechanism (i.e., without an agent). When it is Restored back to an ESX Server, the Restore is shown as ‘SUCCESSFUL’ on the Unitrends User Interface.
- Apple, Mac OS X Hints, macOS 1 Comment While I have older hardware (a 2013 MacBook Pro) that I use for testing macOS betas—it's now running Catalina—it's often handy to have the latest macOS beta running in VMware Fusion on my iMac.
MacOS Catalina hardware acceleration. Running the macOS Catalina 10.15.4 on VMware 15 Pro 15.5.2. It works perfectly. Only one very heavy problem: the graphic interface has only 128MB of memory, no hardware acceleration, no Metal, even if the PC has an AMD Radeon RX580 with 8MB mounted in it. I read a lot regarding kext, lilu, weg etc, but until.
This is the current version of VMware Tools for OS X / macOS from the VMware CDS repository for Fusion 11.5.0
VMware are no longer including the ISO images as separate 'packages' in the CDS respository as of Fusion 11.5.0, instead the ISO images are included as part of the 'core' download which is 522 MB.
It is not possible to download the com.vmware.fusion.zip.tar due to upload limits.
However, I have extracted the darwin.iso and darwinPre15.iso from the 'core' and uploaded to this thread.
If you prefer to download the 'core' tar file and extract the ISO's they are located in the following directory in the tar file:

Please note: In the latest VMwareGfx.kext from Fusion 8.5.5 onwards VMware have discontinued the 2D-Acceleration code, and graphics performance is better now, thanks to Zenith432 for the update.
